Hi, it's Ed here, uh, with just a quick update. This isn't a full episode. This is just a quick update, um, to the episode that was released this last Monday. Where I talked about how Google is now linking to the web app machine to replace the link to the cached version of the page that Google used to show. And I did give the tip that you could actually still use the cache operator in the Google search. Um, you know, doing any kind of Google search with just putting in cash, colon, when the, the URL that you were interested in seeing the cash version of, and yeah, that came out on Monday, that podcast and yeah. Google the next day on Tuesday, um, completely removed the. The cache operator from the search results. So you can no longer use that little hack to see how Google is caching any particular page. You can still use the URL inspection tool in Google search console, but that's obviously only for sites which you have registered in Google search console. So you can't use it to see what version of competitors pages are being cached by Google. So, yeah, unfortunately that one's gone. So I obviously wanted to just this quick update just to let you know that that tip no longer works, unfortunately. Um, so, yeah. This is uh, I flattered myself to think that google, um, took that down on tuesday because I mentioned it on the monday But I doubt very much that that's the case In fact i'd bet my house on the fact that i've been in a case. It's just a terrible coincidence Um, but yes, so unfortunately, so if you were listening to that, um episode from just a couple of days ago Then yeah, unfortunately that tip no longer works. But that's the way things happen. Anyway i'll see you in the next episode
