Hello and welcome to . Seo is not that hard . I'm your host , ed Dawson , the founder of keywordspeopleusecom the solution to finding the questions people ask online . In today's episode , I'm going to talk about the importance of answering people's questions with your content . If you've listened to any of my previous podcasts , you'll have found to have come across me at some point talking about the importance of answering people's questions on your website and in your content . And the reason that I keep going on about this is because that's the strategy that I've used for the past almost 20 years to build content , build web sites out , get them ranking , get them earning money .
Speaker 1This theory is based on the fact that anytime anyone is using Google or any other search engine to do a search , what they're trying to do is actually answer a question . Search engines are really answer engines , so it works very simply . You just have to consider all the questions that people are looking for an answer to when you're building content around your topic , around your niche . Now , if we go back to some of the other episodes where we've talked about the importance of topical authority , the way to build topical authority on any niche is to make sure you cover it in complete depth and in that complete depth of answering the questions that people ask . Now , we all know from experience that Google rewards sites that become the authority in their area , and they become the authority by making sure they have all that content that covers the topic in depth . And you do that by answering all the possible questions you can on the topic . Now , I know I might be saying repetitive here , but that's because it's so important to grasp this concept . If you don't answer all the questions on a topic , you cannot be considered the authority .
Speaker 1The benefits of producing content and some people questions goes beyond just building authority . In the eyes of Google , it also essentially does all the other keyword research for you automatically , because if you cover all the questions people ask on a topic , you are going to naturally , as you write your answers to this , start to cover all the keywords that people use . This means you don't have to start thinking about which sort of keyword terms to target and the volumes of them , because , yeah , you'll pick them up . Naturally . In all my time of building websites and generating millions and millions of visitors , I've never , ever , yeah , what I've always looked to do is to cover a topic or a subniche in complete depth , and then I know that I will have all those keywords that people are using will be matched within that content that I've written and Google will be able to see that this content goes in depth and will start to use the synonyms when people search to surface our content above others who are only really considering keyword volume on very specific keywords and missing out that depth that you need to really cover the topic .
Speaker 1The secondary bonus of building content in this way and becoming the authority and answering all those questions for people is that you will become the go-to site for people to link to if they're trying to find a resource that they can share with their related audiences , if they're trying to cover this area . So , for example , on Broadband , at Cuddy UK we had loads of people who they might have a technology blog and they are covering Broadband in one article that they're doing , but it's not their main focus of their site and they would look for somewhere to point people for further reading , further resources or some of the tools that we have . They would link to us naturally . So having that great content is a link building tactic in itself and a very simple link building tactic in that you don't have to do any work outreach wise . You have to pay for anything . You can just focus all your energy on the content and covering the subject in depth so that you become the go-to site to link to . So you can see , by virtue of concentrating , answering people's questions , you will build a topical authority , you will build your rankings , you will build your traffic , you will build yourself as a resource with us to link to and you just build the complete SEO package by concentrating on that one core philosophy .
Speaker 1Okay , so if you're with me now on this and you're buying in , then the next step is how do we actually build this out ? How do we find the questions that people have ? And obviously you can start yourself . You can write down all the questions you might have . If you're trying to explain your topic , what all the questions you were expecting people to ask ? But this could be time-consuming and you will miss questions that people ask because your imagination is different to everybody else's imagination and you're going to have different questions . Your knowledge Comes from a different place . So what ? It seems obvious to you that you don't even consider a question . Other people who have much less experience Are gonna have much more fundamental questions further down the chain . So what you really need to do is to start doing some research Now .
Speaker 1There's two ways of doing it as the easy way and there's a hard way . The hard way is to find all the sources online where people are asking questions and manually go through for your Neesh and manually build those lists up , and it's doable . I mean , that's how we used to do it , that's how I used to do it before , and we had these tools that we've now got available to us . But that's using things like Google Auto complete to find Suggestions around your niche based on what people are searching for . There is also people also ask and Manually going through and clicking and recording , and clicking and recording all the people also asked on a search term . There are things like going to Reddit and Quora , finding questions , people asking , looking for other websites , a whole range of places like that . Those , those questions , are all out there to find , but it is a long Manual process if you do it just completely from scratch like that . Now , on the flip side , there are tools available that will help you do this , and there's one that you know you hear me talk about every day at the start .
Speaker 1I'm the founder of keywords . People use comm now on keywords people use . We specialize in querying and mining all those places online where people are asking questions and where people's questions are recorded , and Mapping them out so you can see them in context and then relatively and where , how close they're related to each other , their proximity they're in turn . All those things Manly automatically for you in seconds . So I strongly suggest that if you want to start doing some basic research on your or these , just go to keywords people use comm . You can try it for free . You can sign up for a free account with a certain number of searches a month . You know In many cases you you can do all that you need with a free account .
Speaker 1We also provide further tools within kids people use to help you cluster Keywords and questions , to make build topical clusters , and we also have generative AI in there that helps you and create drafts or even straight publishable content . But I mean , that's not the core focus , what we're talking about here . The core focus here is , however you generate content . Whatever your content is , it doesn't have to be text content , it could be video content , it could be reals , it could be all sorts . You need to know the questions that people are asking and that's what we're Specifically set up to help you find , so that you can take your content to the next level and build that topical authority That'll help you rank , will help you gain links and we'll take your website to the next level . I Hope that's giving you a good overview of why this strategy works , how I used it to Elevate my sites above those of people who are just chasing keyword volume , and also Giving you some next steps in terms of the where to find those questions that people ask so you can cover those topics in depth .
